Are you anxious to know what a party involves if you book The Balloon Kid?
It typically goes like this:
- Send an enquiry through the Contact Page to see whether we are available on your party date. We try to stick to no more than 1 party per weekend day - so we can tell you if your preferred date is free and generally, we'll be flexible to fit with your party start time.
- Sometimes William isn't available due to other commitments, if this is the case his mum, Robyn, might still be able to come to twist balloons at your party (she doesn't like to brag, but she thinks she can twist balloons faster than William!) - we'll let you know at the time of enquiry (if it's just Robyn she will stay for slightly longer than an hour to ensure all the children have received a balloon).
- Once a date is locked in, you can relax. We'll normally contact you about 1 week before your party to confirm all the details, such as location, number of guests, any party theme, and most importantly what the birthday child might want as their special balloon.
- Once we know the number of guests we can confirm the price for the party and any mileage charge if we have to travel outside of central Wellington. We'll give you our bank account details and you can pay us on the day of the party.
- Prior to the party we will design a menu of suggested balloons that the party guests can choose from (these can be tailored to suit a party theme if you have one). Having a menu makes it easier for the guests to decide what they would like... but we can also make items that are not on the menu if people ask (within reason).
- On the day of the party we'll make the "special balloon" for the birthday child and we'll bring this along to the party. If you've got a really unusual request, please let us know in advance so we can think about how to make it! We can generally make anything... within reason. Check out our Instagram Page for inspiration.
- We'll aim to arrive at your party about 5 minutes before the agreed start time so we can set up... setup only takes a couple of minutes. Ideally, we just need a table or other space to put our: balloon pump, balloon bags and menu. Then we're ready to start twisting.
- Once our allotted time is up and no one is left waiting for a balloon, we'll pack up and leave - if you're not busy chatting with your guests we'll say goodbye, but if you're busy we'll just leave you to it.
