Working at a party or an event can often be a constant stream of making cats, tigers, unicorns & swords (which is great as it is something you can whip up within the length of time that a young kid is willing to wait). While this can be repetitive, there is great reward in how happy the recipient can be with the creation they receive.
In order to keep things interesting one thing I like to do is to create something in advance of the party for the birthday boy or girl based on either the party theme or interests. This weekend my Mum & I were delighted to work at a “ladybug” party. The process from there is to look for inspiration on the internet & Instagram & to decide on something we can custom make without the time pressure of a crowd. Turns out ladybugs are pretty popular… so we ended up creating a ladybug headband (above), a ladybug on a flower, & a ladybug ‘backpack’ (below). Presenting the birthday girl with these 3 items as soon as we arrived was a real blast - everyone was amazed & I think it’s fair to say that we created an impact on the party.
